2011 Angie ZhangAngie Zhang entered Juilliard Pre-College in 2007 and studies piano with Yoheved Kaplinsky. At age 10, Angie started to perform with orchestras as a piano soloist. She has appeared as a piano soloist with Ensemble 212, the Juilliard Pre-College Symphony, Columbia Symphony Orchestra, Olympia Symphony Orchestra, and the Portland Young Artist Orchestra. Her major competitions include a first prize in the Rosalyn Tureck International Bach Competition in New York (2008), winner of the Juilliard Pre-College Concerto Competition (2008), winner of Ensemble 212 Young Artist Competition in New York (2008), and winner of Young Artists Concerto Competition in Oregon (2006). Angie has given solo recitals in ShenZhen, China; Portland, Oregon; Aspen, Colorado; and Paul Hall at Juilliard in New York City. In May 2011, Angie won the Nordmann Scholarship Piano Competition in the Juilliard Pre-College Division. In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, running, reading, traveling, and riding on rollercoasters.
