Thirty five youngsters ages 6 to 15 enjoyed their first experience playing the piano this summer as Hall Piano sponsored our “Hall Music Academy” Free Summer Piano Camp.
Classes were held each week Monday through Thursday in which each young person learned their way around the piano keyboard playing such songs as “Mary Had A Little Lamb”, “Frere Jacques”, Beethoven’s “Ode To Joy” and even the great jazz standard “When The Saints Go Marching In”.
The sponsors and teachers of the program were very pleased that many of the participants decided to continue with their piano lessons by registering with a private teacher.
The program will soon be offered again as a Saturday activity throughout the year and offers the perfect introduction to piano playing for those young people who just aren’t quite certain whether they want to learn to play. Students can attend a free one hour class four Saturdays in a row and be reassured that playing the piano is both fun and rewarding.
Hall Piano encourages all parents of children under the age of 15 who have never had any musical training of any kind to phone and inquire as to the next available dates and times to attend. Pre-registration is required since seating is limited to 8 students per class. Please phone (504) 733-8863 for more information.
