Hall Piano Company is pleased to announce that Steven O. Kinchen, president and co-owner, has been appointed to serve on the board of directors of the Musical Arts Society of New Orleans.
Originally founded in 1980 as the New Orleans Institute for the Performing Arts by Melvin G. Alford and Julianne Nice, the initial aim of the organization was to provide students and teachers in the performing arts with master classes and workshops, as well as expose them to performances by artists in the mainstream of professional activity.
On March 16, 2005, the Musical Arts Society of New Orleans was happy to celebrate its 25th birthday. For over a quarter of century, MASNO has been presenting classical music in New Orleans. As they mark their silver anniversary, they continue to add concerts and educational programs to their schedule, as well as continue the fine tradition of performances that include the New Orleans International Piano Competition, Concerto Showcase, Nocturne, the New Orleans Piano Institute, and the annual Keyboard Festival.
MASNO continues to be a vital component of the local music community, striving not only to present the highest quality of performances, but to encourage the growth of supportive audiences for all classical music events throughout the city.
