Min Joo Yi currently studies with Dr. Duane Hulbert. She resides in Bellevue, Washington, and will be a senior at Newport High School. She began playing piano at age six. Min Joo has been featured on the Seattle Channel Art Zone and on the Kansas Public Radio. In past competitions she has placed second at the national level of both the 2010 MTNA Yamaha Senior Division and the 2008 MTNA Baldwin Junior Division. Min Joo received the bronze medal in the 5th Schimmel US ASU International Piano Competition in 2011. She was also a finalist in the 2010 New York International Piano Competition and the 2009 International Institute for Young Musicians Competition. She performed in the 2009 Music for Medicine Benefit Concert sponsored by the Seattle Young Artists Music Festival for the Polyclinic Community Health Foundation. In her spare time she enjoys drawing.
